“Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.”(1 Corinthians 11:1 NIV)
Today, on Father’s Day, I thought I would reflect a bit on the idea that as a dad to my two girls, I’m setting an EXAMPLE to follow. Paul told the Corinthians in the above verse that he was following Christ’s example. So, if I take a long, hard look at the path that I’m taking, and then somehow transpose this path to my ladies (of course translating for gender, etc), the question I’m asking is this:
IS MY LIFE WORTH FOLLOWING?
With regards to fitness, am I honoring God with my body? In my eating habits? In EVERYTHING?
Am I man of integrity? Am I able to stand firm in my faith even when I face challenges? Am I considering others and honestly serving their best interests?
We often hear about the idea that our children are listening not just to our words, but the ACTIONS in our lives. Today, I really challenge the dads out there to live lives WORTH FOLLOWING!
Be the type of men that you want your boys to be. Be the type of men that you want your daughters to marry. Our EXAMPLE will help set the bar higher for the next generation. LET’S GO!
