Many of us find it hard to stay on track during the weekends because they tend to not have the same rhythm as the rest of the week. We are around food ALL THE TIME vs intentionally packing food for lunch, etc. Here is a list of the
TOP 3 WAYS TO SABOTAGE YOUR WEEKEND NUTRITION
(NOTE: SARCASM is fully intended):
1. DON’T PLAN YOUR MEALS – GRAZE, GRAZE, AND GRAZE some more. The pantry is ALWAYS open and so is the fridge! That “little” bit of cheese, those handfuls of chips, the “small” serving of ice cream, those are all totally acceptable in your efforts to sabotage all the hard work you put in this week.
2. DON’T DRINK ENOUGH WATER – Let’s face it, you are TOTALLY WAY TOO BUSY to fill up a water bottle 3-4 times during the day and carry it along with you to kids’ activities or on trips to the store. Besides, we all know that water fills us up, and we definitely want to save room for that hot buttered popcorn at the movies later!
3. AT ALL COSTS, DON’T HAVE HEALTHY SNACKS PREPARED! – This would make life WAY TOO EASY. You don’t want to have that temptation to eat healthy when you look in the fridge and see a rubbermaid container with carrots and hummus all ready to go. Grapes in a plastic bag are sickeningly healthy. DON’T GO THERE. Just wing it! The less preparation, the better. You are looking forward to having to do 100 extra burpees EVERY DAY next week to just take care of the junk food you will eat this weekend!
Now, all of this is in fun. I do hope you are able to plan some, and help yourself succeed. You are working WAY TOO HARD not to take care of yourself on weekends. One big thing you can do isMAKE CONSCIOUS CHOICES and tell your loved ones that you are doing so. Asking their support can be critical. More on this in another post.
