WILL THIS YEAR BE DIFFERENT?

It’s funny how a lot of people who help people with fitness will post a quote like this and say, “You’ve got to be COMMITTED!”

And while commitment is a COMPONENT of success in any endeavor, it’s actually a by-product of a much deeper decision. The reason why so many people don’t stick to New Year’s resolutions is that they are often motivated by “HAVE-TO” rather than “WANT-TO”. People every year say to themselves, “I should probably get on track with fitness!” My main concerns with this motivation:

1. NOT DEEP ENOUGH – Even thinking that we want to look good in bathing suits isn’t deep enough to last long term. It might get you through a season, but then you’ll go back to old habits. We have to DIG DEEPER for the reason. I’m convinced that it has to land either in faith or in family. As a man of faith, I am looking to HONOR GOD with EVERY ASPECT of my life – including my body.

2. LONE RANGER ATTITUDE – Too many people try to do this ALONE. We are made to encourage each other on the journey. It’s why we are called LET’S GO FITNESS because it implies “let US” go, TOGETHER! Consider a partner or joining one of our free Facebook support groups – CLICK HERE

3. NO PLAN – Generally people fail for having a lack of a plan with regards to both workout and nutrition. Find a system or workout plan that works for you. There are great FREE options out there, or consider one of our at-home programs to get you started.

4. CHANGE “I SHOULD” to “I WILL” – If we head into a workout/nutrition regimen with “should”, the chances are that our mental attitude isn’t strong enough. If you are REALLY SERIOUS about making progress, change the “I SHOULD get on track” to “I WILL get on track.” Envisioning what the future would look like, how you would feel and look is a great way to keep intensity.

Let us know if we can be helpful to you! LET’S GO!

About Me

I’m Dan Vukmirovich, a follower of Jesus, husband, father and fitness nut. I guess you could call me a “Pastor of Fitness.” But I wasn’t always that way. It took a rude awakening and a family history of diabetes to get me to where I am today. Read more.
